6 Perfect Small Bathroom Vanities For Small Bathrooms

In this article I want to show you some tips about how to find the perfect small bathroom vanities for small bathrooms. Sounds complicated, doesn’t it? 😛

Well, it’s not really so. But, at the beginning, I have a question for you.

Small bathroom vanities for small bathroomsAre you trying to find the right vanity for your bathroom, but this seems impossible with a small bathroom?

Believe me, you’re not the only one who feels so. More and more people complain of the dimensions of their bathrooms, as these make it really hard to find the appropriate furniture.

However, they say there is a solution to every problem, right? Well, this case makes no exception.

The best type of furniture that you can add in a small bathroom is…surprise, the smaller one.

Just think about it, for a small person you would get small clothes, isn’t it so? Well, it’s just the same with rooms.

Choosing some small bathroom vanities for small bathrooms is the best thing you can do. A small cabinet may not look amazing in a large bathroom, but it will definitely look great in a smaller one.

That’s just a tiny little secret that can change the aspect of your bathroom completely, it’s up to you whether you use it or not. But in case you want to know more, let me give you 3 tips on how to choose the perfect small bathroom vanities for small bathrooms.

It’s much simpler than you think. 😉

   1. Vanities made of one piece are the best for a small bathroom

Small bathroom vanities for small bathroomsYes, I know, everyone is tempted to choose a solid, modern vanity, made of as many small pieces as possible, just because it would look better in this way.

WRONG!

It’s not only that it wouldn’t look good at all (because of space reasons), but it would also be too large for a small bathroom, and you’ll end up not having where to place all the pieces of the vanity.

It’s true that vanities made of several pieces are more and more fashionable, but they were made for large, spacious bathrooms, that can afford losing so much space with this kind of vanities.

On the other hand, for small bathrooms, one piece vanities remain the best solution, thanks to their small dimensions, that manage to save a lot of space.

In this way, the bathroom won’t seem overcrowded and busy, but rather more spacious than before.

Therefore, the first thing you should look at when choosing a small bathroom vanity is how many pieces it’s made of. This will give you a good idea whether it’s suitable for your bathroom or not.

   2. The corner is the best place for a small bathroom vanity

p1I know it may seem a bit strange in these days to place the vanity in the corner when you could place it right in the middle of the wall. And I also know that you may believe it won’t look well, but I have to disagree with you.

Placing the vanity in a corner is actually a trick used by many interior designers, especially when there is very little space in a bathroom, so a few extra inches are more than welcome. What’s the reason for this?

Well, a vanity placed in the corner will give the feeling of an open space, making the bathroom seem larger than it actually is.

Also, those few inches saved could also make a difference, especially in apartment bathrooms, which tend to be even more narrow than the others.

So, next time you redecorate your small bathroom, make sure you place your vanity in the corner, because you’ll see a totally different bathroom. 😀

   3. A vanity is designed to store your bathroom stuff, so use it as such

Although everyone wants to get a vanity that looks modern, has a beautiful aspect and its own charm, it’s not all about this.

Small bathroom vanities for small bathroomsVanities are created to offer you a nice place where you can store all your daily stuff, like towels, cosmetics or anything of this type. There’s no point adding a vanity just to make your bathroom look nice, especially because there isn’t much free space in a small bathroom.

Just think about it, how does a bathroom full of cosmetics and towels look? I would say it looks really crowded, busy and even smaller than it actually is.

You may not realize it, but a lot of things in every part of your bathroom only make it look more narrow and crowded.

So, is there anything to be done? Of course there is. 😀

Actually, it’s very simple. All you have to do is to make a maximum use of all the space your vanity has. Even if its dimensions aren’t very large, there is still enough space to store your bathroom essentials.

Just by doing this, you will make your bathroom free of all those common things in a bathroom, like shampoos, towels or bathing gowns. And believe me, the difference will be visible immediately, your bathroom will look much more fresh and clean.

Using your vanity as a storage place isn’t hard at all, but it’s a thing many people aren’t used to, so it may take a while until it becomes part of your routine, but it will in the end.

6 Ideas of Small Bathroom Vanities For Small Bathrooms

We all know there is a huge difference between theory and practice, so it’s one thing to have an idea of what vanity you should choose, and another one to actually be sure of it.

For this reason, I want to show you several pictures of different vanities for small bathrooms, so that you can get an idea of what you would like to have in your bathroom.

Remember that these vanities are all designed for small bathrooms, so don’t expect to see sophisticated pieces here, simply because they wouldn’t look well in a small bathroom, where we have very little space available.

In apartment bathrooms or in the ones that are extremely narrow, this kind of simple, small vanity would be perfect.

Although it doesn’t have a glamorous design or a strong pattern, it blends with the decor and creates the feeling of more space, thanks to its place in the corner and to the fact that it’s not covered of a lot of things.

In case a small, simple vanity is not exactly what you’ve been dreaming of, here is an example of a compromise.

Although the storage space is probably not the biggest advantage of this kind of vanity, the appearance is really worth it. As you can see, it takes the whole part of the back wall, so the downside is that it makes the room look smaller, or in the best case, as small as it is.

So if you’re ready to accept this, this kind of vanity would definitely make your bathroom look special.

Here’s another simple vanity, that looks great in a patterned decor.

Although I wouldn’t recommend such a strong pattern for a small bathroom, the simple furniture pieces we see here manage to create a fresh atmosphere, calming down the busy feeling given by the patterned walls.

The vanity is also placed in the corner, which makes the room more spacious.

This may not be the most appealing bathroom you’ve ever seen, but there aren’t many choices to make in such a narrow space.

I admit this is one of the smallest bathrooms I’ve ever seen, so decorating such a room would be a very hard job for everyone. The very small vanity is a necessity here, because it would have been literally impossible to go for something smaller.

In case you’re dealing with a similarly small bathroom, remember there is always hope, just like you can see here. 😀

When space isn’t on your side, there are many ways to improve the lack of space. If a small vanity isn’t enough to store all your things, you can go for a horizontal storage, just like you see in the left. These kind of small shelves look really elegant and modern.

But what I like about this vanity is that it’s not overcrowded by unnecessary stuff, which makes it look really fresh and stylish.

If you’re a fan of wooden decor, this kind of vanity might be just what you’re looking for.

It’s true that this bathroom isn’t necessarily extremely small, so there is enough place to add a larger vanity, but this one is made of just one piece, and it still looks extremely elegant and modern.

So this could be a great option for your own bathroom.

To sum things up

Bathroom vanities have become a necessity nowadays, so if you think you have no space for it in a small bathroom, well… you are wrong.

If you choose a really small one, which you will use for storage, and you place it in one corner, you have all the chances not only to get the perfect vanity, but also to make your bathroom look larger than it really is.

In case you need some inspiration and you’re not sure what you’re looking for, just above there are 6 ideas of small bathroom vanities for small bathrooms. Enjoy them! 😀

Hello Anne, really enjoyed the article. We just build our second floor a couple months ago and the bathroom over there definitely could use some help. It’s kind of dull. I never thought there would be so many options about the vanity! For me it was just “well, buy one…it needs one…” but after this I will definitely consider upgrading, also love your pictures since they give me different kinds of ideas like walls and floor decoration. Thank you!

    Anne,
I have a small half bath in the mud room. I have a corner vanity and it makes the room look bigger. The fact that it does not take up a lot of wall space is an advantage. If a vanity was placed flat against the wall, there would not be a place to have a commode. You have given many options for a smaller bathroom that will make the space look bigger.

I’m so happy to hear that, without having any idea about this thing, you placed the vanity in the corner so your bathroom looks bigger. That’s a great step, believe me 😀
